Sometimes produce gets a bad rep when it doesn’t look the way we’ve come to expect. Because of this, farmers discard perfectly good produce just because it’s a little different. Misunderfood wants to change that by turning funny-looking food into delicious snacks, while simultaneously supporting local communities. By creating jobs, supporting farmers, and reducing waste, Misunderfood harvests the most good for the most people.
This project was an exercise in building a business brand from start to finish, from conception all the way through to the details of packing, displays, and marketing.
Graphics for this brand have a hand-touched focus in order to convey the natural imperfections of fruits and vegetables.
The base of all materials is in crisp black and white so that the color of the fruit and vegetable illustrations is what stands out.
Displays use more color than typical brand elements in order to draw the eye. All colors must be sampled from fruit icons.
