Technology Company Branding
From hospitals to streaming services, OpenNMS has been working in the background to power enterprises around the world for over a decade. It's the world’s first fully open source network monitoring platform that is flexible and easy to work with and build on.
While working with the New Kind team, I helped OpenNMS to rebrand, designing logo iterations, background treatments, icons, and more. I then joined the OpenNMS team to implement and expand that brand across platforms and collateral, from deck templates to . diagraming to events.
OpenNMS' new logo mark is based on the gyroscope. The gyroscope embodies the spirit of precise navigation and continuous calibration that OpenNMS creates every day.
Just like OpenNMS, the Open Gyroscope is made of multiple pieces working in harmony to show the way and help you stay the course.
These nested radial graphics mimic the forms and behavior of a gyroscope. Able to fit any configuration you need, these visualizations add an element of movement that mirrors the incredible processing speeds of OpenNMS.
I created a library of diagram components to make it easy to quickly and uniformly create on-brand diagrams communicating various complex technical systems. The library includes OpenNMS's branded products in the core palette and general components in neutrals.
Deck and document templates allow everyone, not just designers, to create clean, on-brand materials quickly. This is especially important when looking professional and enterprise-level for clients.
With the help of some developers on the OpenNMS team, we created this character creator of the mascot Ulf the Kiwi. Customize your kiwi with unique colors, features, and lots of costumes!
And some specific Halloween items thrown in for when we featured the kiwi creator at an All Things Open event at the end of October where attendees could make their own custom kiwi and get it printed and made into a pin button.
